WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama said on Monday words are not sufficient for Iran to resolve concerns about its nuclear program.

Obama said the US is entering negotiations with Iran clear-eyed. He said Iran seems ready to negotiate, but diplomacy must be tested.

He said the US isn’t taking any options off the table, including military action.

Obama spoke during a meeting with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The meeting comes just days after Obama’s historic phone call with new Iranian President Hassan Rowhani.

Netanyahu has been warning the US against equating Rowhani’s more moderate rhetoric with substantive changes in Iran’s nuclear policy.
