JEDDAH: The Youngsters rebounded from a previous week debacle to claim Team of the Week honors during the sixth session in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) Friday Afternoon League First Season 2012 at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.
The Youngsters came up with the highest total of 29 points on the day as they blanked PCG-Jeddah 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,338 and 2,168 for rank points of 9 and 4 with team captain Jerry Carredo leading by example when he carded the top score of 620 on lines of 149, 221 and 175.
Southpaw Ryan Okol returned 593 while Toto Lim had 576 as the other player to have all three games counted to the scoresheet of Youngsters who were at the short end of a similar 20-0 verdict against Current Bowlers the past week. Margie Villasanta contributed 180-152 while Fuly Primo had 152.
Makati Pinbusters was the other team to win by 20-0 shutout against The Transferee and, as a result, emerged as the second best of the session on 27 total points. Their match produced total pinfalls of 2, 241 and 2,051 for rank points of 7 and 1.
Leading the Pinbusters charge was the duo of Archie Alcantara 588 and Bob Stone 567, while Christine Stone made 541. Benj Espinosa added 146-142 and Alma Baylon 152.
League leader Cool Guys posted the best total pinfalls of 2,390 for 10 rank points in beating Fed & AA (2,204) 16-4 and totaled 26 thanks mainly to the pair of skipper Jun De Dios 625 and Eidris Mangoda 611. Med Ramos tallied 584 and Salic Mudag 570.
Khalid Bustinera gave the beaten Fed & AA some consolation when he captured the men’s Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 682 on games of 190, 184 and 233.
RJ Transient Houses whipped Yanbu 4Ever 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2,312 and 2,180 for rank points of 8 and 5. Overall RJ totaled 24 with 9 for Yanbu which saved some face after the defeat when Edna Brusette was named the ladies Bowler of the Week on 552 (137,170,200).
The leading scorers at RJ were team captain Rudy Jamon, OFBC Commissioner Joel Nidoy 596 and Jack Jarin 557. Ric Tabayan contributed two games of 154-151 while Lourdes Punzalan added 180.
The match between Current Bowlers and Lance & 3rdy petered out to a 10-10 draw on total pinfalls of 2,149-2,054 for rank points of 3 and 2 and total of 13 and 12.
Current skipper Bash Langa and Robert Gamboa were the main men for their team on 577 and 503, while Jon Valdesotto and Johndy Cantara paced Lance on 544 and 527.
