JEDDAH: Prominent Indian Muslim leader Zafaryab Jilani, who arrived in the Kingdom on Sunday, will be felicitated this evening (Wednesday) at a program organized by a number of expatriate welfare associations, including Al-Ittehad Foundation.
According to senior writer and Indian journalist Muhammad Mujahid Syed, the event is to celebrate Jilani’s appointment as additional advocate general of Uttar Pradesh. As an executive member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, he enjoys considerable following among the expatriate community in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
“Jilani is one of the nation’s most sincere and relentless fighters … His appointment has enthused members of India’s Muslim community, both within the country and abroad,” he told Arab News.
