JEDDAH: The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JCCI) organized an entertainment program for children with special needs and orphans as a form of social responsibility toward society in order to to celebrate the “Gulf Disabled Day” at their premises on Wednesday.
A total of 5,000 disabled children and orphans, their families, business professionals, social and humanitarian representatives of charities attended the program, which was supported and sponsored by Bank Aljazira.
Hanadi Balawi, the program organizer, said the role played by the JCCI for celebrating and organizing the Gulf disabled day has been pivotal in executing an outstanding program for children with special needs and orphans.
“This demonstrates a sound understanding of social responsibility, as the idea of celebrating the event was to achieve its objectives in the interest of orphans and disabled children and to collaborate with associations, organizations and the sectors that are interested in providing support and assistance for the program. I thank all of them,” said Balawi.
She further said the role of Bank Aljazira was to support and sponsor this festival for people with specific needs from different charities. These include children at the Al-Bir charity, the Al-Wadad charity, the First Charitable organization, the Boys Charity and the Disabled Children association.
Children enjoyed cartoon characters, cartoon shows, face painting, Hijazi music, a comedy play and other such entertainment shows.
Dr. Fahd bin Ali Alyan, Executive Director of community service programs at Bank Aljazira, also stated that they the bank has made a commitment to fulfill their moral responsibility towards the nation and its people and their commitments to the values of social solidarity and loyalty for the homeland and its citizens.
He further said this festival was organized as an extension of the programs and activities of the Bank in the area of social responsibility, which aims to provide moral and financial support for disabled children.
