Khaled Al-Azhary, minister of manpower and immigration in Egypt, recently inaugurated Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ) Cairo branch in the presence of engineer Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, chief job creator at BRJ.
BRJ International, an initiative of Abdul Latif Jamel Community Initiatives (ALJCI), aiming to create job opportunities in the Arab world and Turkey, now extends to 10 branches.
In a press statement, Al-Azhary said: "Undoubtedly, Bab Rizq Jameel is one of the leading projects in Egypt. Through a meeting with Engineer Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, we have decided to support cooperation between the Ministry of Manpower and BRJ to create 250,000 jobs for young males and females within the few coming years."
Al-Azhary added: "This shall be accomplished through several programs and initiatives provided by BRJ, including training ending with employment, direct employment, and providing easy loans."
Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel thanked the minister for the his generosity, saying that his visit to Egypt had opened wider horizons for cooperation to create more job opportunities in Egypt.
Jameel said plans for BRJ's operations in Egypt should be developed to achieve the new goals that resulted from the visit.
He expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Manpower as well as other governmental authorities in Egypt for their unlimited support to BRJ in the area of job creation for young males and females.
Maaz Al-Faramawi, BRJ International's executive director, said BRJ inaugurated its first branch in Egypt in 2009, and achieved 6,910 job opportunities in the same year.
In 2012, the branch was successfully upgraded, and number of job creators was increased.
Accordingly, the branch created 25,862 job opportunities, representing 75 percent of the overall job opportunities created internationally.
Al-Faramawi said at the beginning of 2012, BRJ activity in Egypt had expanded geographically and the number of job creators was increased to cover five branches; Giza, Shobra, Banha, Shobra Al Khaima and Bolaq Al-Dakror.
Sayed Al-Ghol, BRJ Egypt director, said the repayment ratio in BRJ Egypt for all programs has reached 99.32 percent by the end of 2012.
