Saudi businesswomen met with Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq Al-Rabiah last week and discussed their problems and grievances. They all belonged to the women's division of the executive council of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting discussed their businesses and investment projects and reviewed the issues related to the ministry. RCCI Chairman Abdul Rahman Al-Jeraisy attended the meeting, which also discussed matters relating to various other ministries.

Executive council's Director Huda Al-Jeraisy said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry should take the lead in establishing a working team that will liaison with all the concerned ministries and facilitate the issuance of licenses for trade, services and commercial activities.

Huda also said the ministries' decisions and regulations should be reviewed to avoid contradictions. Al-Rabiah expressed his readiness to solve the obstacles the businesswomen face, and offer support to enable them to achieve success in their business and investment projects. He stressed the need for businesswomen to discuss and take decisions within the legal framework.

The meeting also reviewed women's membership on the boards of the various chambers of commerce and industries in the Kingdom.
