Saudi and foreign business leaders will attend the Jazan Economic Forum that opens on Dec. 22. Prince Mohammed bin Nasser, the governor of Jazan, will open the forum that will showcase a large number of investment projects.

Nasser bin Abdu Murie, chairman of Jazan Chamber of Commerce, said the Council of Saudi Chambers has sent invitations to chambers of commerce and industry across the Kingdom to participate in the event.

“Saudi businessmen and industrialists have to make use of the huge investment opportunities in Jazan,” Murie said, adding that the forum offers a good opportunity to highlight Jazan’s investment potential.

“We’ll present a large number of vital projects during the forum to attract Saudi and foreign investments,” Murie said.

“We want to present projects that are feasible and meet the region’s requirements and suit its natural resources,” he said.

The presence of Jazan Economic City, Jazan Seaport, huge natural and agricultural resources and geographical location make Jazan an ideal place for investment.

Speaking about the forum’s objectives, Murie said: “Apart from attracting investments, it aims at building infrastructure and creating a suitable investment climate,” the chairman said. “We want to change the region’s challenges into opportunities for investors.”

Murie said the forum would be attended by prominent Saudi and foreign businessmen and businessmen, top executives of major national and international companies, banks and investment funds as well as senior government officials and academics.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Economic Cities Authority, Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON), Saudi Aramco and Saudi Ports Authority will participate in the three-day forum.

There are a lot of real estate investment opportunities in Jazan, especially in building housing units, tourism and recreational facilities and international schools. “Most of the investment projects being carried in Jazan have been successful. I am sure this fact would encourage businessmen to invest in the region,” said Ahmed Al-Qunfudi, secretary-general of Jazan chamber.

Ehab Aburakba, secretary-general of the forum, said it would contribute to Jazan’s development by attracting more investment projects. “Jazan offers a lot of incentives for investors.”
