RIYADH: Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies (AP), receives an honorary plaque by Kafeef Association for the Blind in Riyadh for his support to their special needs programs.

During the opening ceremony of the third Harakat festival, organized by the Kafeef Association, Sheikh Ali AlNashwan received the plaque on the prince’s behalf.

Prince Alwaleed received the award for his support to those with special needs, specifically his support for The Orientation and Mobility Training Program.

The program had trained 60 visually impaired citizens to improve their independence and self-confidence.

The program also offered rehabilitation and educational support for the visually impaired, in addition to raising awareness of the needs and capabilities of the visually impaired.

This initiative is part of Alwaleed Philanthropies’ commitment to support programs for training and empowering the visually impaired, which includes the recent support to the computer-training program at the Kafeef Association.

One-hundred and forty four visually impaired citizens were trained, earned a diploma, obtained employment and contribute to their rehabilitation, independence and social integration.

Alwaleed Philanthropies has also supported “Ibsar program” at the Ibsar Foundation as well as sponsoring them to establish awareness campaigns.
