Saudi stocks hovered in small gains and losses on Wednesday, almost a repeat of Tuesday’s flat performance which turned positive and the day ended in green.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) inched up to 9,787.41 points, showing an increment of 7.81 points or 0.08 percent growth for the entire day. It wavered within a narrow range of 28.6 points.

Five out of Tadawul's 15 sectors witnessed a positive change, accumulating 119 points for the day. Remaining twofold sectors closed in the downward territory, paring an aggregate of 173 points.

Multi Investment came out as the best performing sector of the day, advancing 0.75 percent to 4,889.54.

Transport sector, on the other hand, showed the worst performance, declining 0.62 percent for the day.

Most of heavy weights closed in green; where Kingdom holding surging by 2.82 percent and Samba Financial Group 0.72 percent.

Falling stocks outnumbered rising ones two-to-one on the Saudi stock market Wednesday. Gulf Union Insurance showing excessive losses of 2.91 percent became the major decliner at Tadawul.

On the other positive side, Sanad Insurance and Abdulmohsen Alhokair group remained at top positions among all Saudi equities, soaring up 6.79 percent and 5.09 percent respectively.

Sanad volume went three times high over its 50-day average, liquidating three million shares roughly. Alhokair also topped the value chart, contributing SR1.2 billion, which is approximately one-fifth of the overall market value.

Investors still showed a lackadaisical attitude, as the market's volume went 46 percent below the 50-day average of 292.8 million shares.

Equity turnover reached to SR5.9 billion, a decrease of 36.7 percent from the 50-day average level. Alinma Bank with trades over 23 million shares led the volume chart, a relative market share of 14.6 percent.
