The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) opened at 7,103.52 points level yesterday, which appeared to be the intra-day high.
After a steep decline of 44 points earlier on Wednesday, the index started to travel sideways with small movements in the negative zone throughout the day to close at 7061.43, paring 42.09 points or 0.59 percent for the entire day.
All Saudi sectors performed negatively, except Media and Energy, which gained an aggregate of 6.26 points. Only Energy sector resisted the prevailing downward trend throughout the session.
On the other hand, Multi-Investment sector traded in the red zone for the second consecutive day. It became the biggest loser, slipping 53.52 points or 1.67 percent to close at 3,159.24.
Most of heavy weights closed in red; where Al-Rajhi Bank dipped by 1.02 percent, Kingdom Holding 0.91 percent and Riyad Bank 0.85 percent.
Share trading activity remained low on Wednesday as compared to previous day; turnover went down by 22.1 percent in terms of volume and 25.9 percent in terms of value. While, the number of executed transactions reached 134,844 trades, a decline of 21 percent.
Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 119 to 19 and the prices of 13 companies remained unchanged.
Enaya Cooperative Insurance showed the best performance among all Saudi stocks, surging 6.08 percent for the day.
On the worst side, Saudi Advanced Industries traded in negative zone for the third consecutive day, came out as the biggest loser among all Saudi stocks, fell 3.59 percent to close at SR20.15.
