The Saudi stock market continued its downward momentum and fell for a third consecutive session yesterday. The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) dropped 16.51 points to 6,864.65 or 0.24 percent for the entire day.

The index traded within a range of 41 points, moving 9 points up and 32 points below the level of opening bell yesterday.

Only Large cap indices moved upward slightly.

Sector indices performed in a mixed fashion, with seven sectors reflecting an accumulation of 117 points and eight sectors shedding 229 points collectively.

Media and Publishing sector outdid rest of the sectors for the third consecutive day, advancing 0.85 percent further. Multi-Investment also achieved a growth of 0.85 percent, closing the day at 3,470.55.

Insurance and Real Estate Development sectors, on the other hand, posted the largest losses, falling 1.78 percent and 1.18 percent respectively.

Kingdom Holding turned in a splendid performance among top ten heavyweight stocks, reflecting an increment of SR 0.45 or 2.49 percent. The company has also been able to occupy the place at top gainer chart, closing at SR 18.5, and ranking third.

While, Saudi Arabia Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO) performed worst amongst heavyweights, going down by 1.29 percent.

Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 97 to 43 and the prices of 16 companies remained unchanged.

Al Sagr Company for Cooperative Insurance led the top gainers chart at Tadawul, surging by 8.3 percent to close the day at SR 35.2.

On the negative side, Amana Cooperative Insurance changed its position from top performer of the previous three days to the biggest loser of the day, down 9.88 percent to SR 166.5.
