Bupa Arabia, claimed to be the first company specialized in health insurance in the Kingdom, signed the final orphan cover agreement for 2013, which provides for free health insurance services to orphans living in orphanages under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs across Saudi Arabia.

During a special ceremony attended by media representatives, Loay Nazer, chairman of Bupa Arabia, expressed his happiness over the full execution of the company’s plans to provide free insurance for this segment of orphans.

“Two years ago, we made a commitment to ourselves and to our community that Bupa Arabia will be a leader in community service and will demonstrate its responsibility to those who need our support and our attention. Today, I am proud to say that we have fulfilled this commitment by providing all of the 3,000 orphans in Saudi Arabia who are living in orphanages under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Affairs with free health insurance coverage.”

During the ceremony, Nazer and CSR committee members presented success stories about orphans’ health improvement, and health activities with orphans in addition to sharing the results achieved in this program since its inception.

The company also recognized health care providers who cooperated with Bupa and had an important role in making this “ambitious” project a success.

The last signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Riyadh, where the agreements were signed by Nazer and Vice Minister Abdullah Al-Yousif.

With the signing of these agreements, Bupa Arabia enrolled the last batch of 1,108 orphans located in Riyadh, Hail, Tabuk, Dammam, Al-Ahsa, Al-Atawla, Unaizah, Buraidah and Al-Shagra, bringing the total number orphans currently enrolled in the program to 3,000.

The previous signings covered orphans in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Jazan, Abha and Taif.
