Ericsson showcased the latest Internet Protocol (IP) solution to representatives of the Kingdom’s mobile operators as part of the company’s “Fourth Generation Mobile Backhaul” roadshow.

This followed the introduction of 4G in the Kingdom and the continuously increasing number of mobile subscribers and demand for connectivity in Saudi Arabia.

The event, held over two days in Riyadh, also focused on the latest industry innovations and technological advancements set to enable the Networked Society in the Kingdom.

During the event, Ericsson demonstrated their end-to-end solution component as a network model to telecom operators.

A team of experts are traveling around the world, along with the demo kit as part of the roadshow, showcasing Ericsson’s latest solution to mobile operators, network providers and local telecom regulators.

The Mobile Backhaul solution is perfectly suited for operators who want to create high-bandwidth-based mobile systems using HSPA and LTE.

“By demonstrating our solutions today, we hope to equip operators with the right tools to face the challenges of tomorrow, and support them in catering to the growing demands of their subscribers, while also paving the way for a Networked Society in the Kingdom.”

The event was attended by senior technical teams from the operators.

The roadshow kicked off from Istanbul in November 2012 and moved on to Cairo and Beirut earlier this year.

Additional stops are planned in Dubai and Islamabad later in the year.
