As the advent of globalization and technology continues to break down barriers in multiple arenas, nowhere is this impact felt more than in the academic sphere. Online websites offering university courses, long distance learning and applications customized for a more holistic classroom experience are fast becoming the norm around the globe and now, thanks to Acadox, Saudi Arabia too has its representative.

A Saudi technology company geared toward promoting social learning, collaboration across multiple institutes and accelerating the learning process via an easy and effective educational platform, Acadox was first born in 2011 as the brainchild of Mohammad Al-Hareeqi, Mustafa Nabulsi and Nedal Mourad.

Envisioning an easy-to-use learning management system (LMS), the three friends managed to make their dream a reality via the seed fund program at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and later secured a significant investment from STC Ventures Fund to back the product.

Mustafa Nabulsi, who credits Acadox’s growth to a dire need for an innovative educational tool in the market, says: “We knew that the traditional course tools were fine in the older days but we understood how it is increasingly irrelevant for today’s students. Acadox aims to be the educational hub for the Middle East providing top notch technologies for faculty and students to manage their academic lives in an easier and more practical way.”

This is largely promulgated through the socially intuitive platform that is designed for the convenience of both teachers and students by providing an interactive framework wherein to document achievements and even create an e-portfolio to facilitate the transition to universities and the job market.

Mohammad Al-Hareeqi, CTO, is excited about the future of innovative learning, the limitless possibilities that come with it and the impact it will have on the learning experience.
