Toshiba Gulf FZE (TGFZ) and Abdul Latif Jameel Technology Products Co. Ltd. (ALJTPC) announced the launch of smart LED TV with Android operating system in Saudi Arabia.

Toshiba claims to be the first brand to introduce a smart LED TV with Android operating system.

Toshiba is offering the Android TV to empower the home viewers with freedom to download thousands of apps/games from Google Play and all contents via open browser along with professional theater system.

Gokul Praveen, GM, ALJTPC, stated: “This gives a great advantage of combining the large screen with Android operating system. That is, besides enjoying regular content, Android opens up a new TV experience on the large screen with many free apps and web content. With the pre-loaded Google Play, viewers are invited to access a wide array of increasingly popular Android apps and the convenience of downloading and enjoying multimedia content.”

Featuring an open browser, the Toshiba Android TV enables users to link up with popular online content easily and connect to various social media platforms on a large screen. Furthermore, the Android platform allows customization of the user interface with a growing number of interesting apps offered by Google Play such as Drag & Drop widget or Live Wallpaper app for more personalization.”

Toshiba’s Intelligent Auto View technology seeks to provide a better theater experience under different ambient lighting conditions.

Toshiba’s “exclusive” audio source filtering feature is capable of separating and remixing vocals from the background sound of the video sources from TV broadcast, USB movies and music as well as YouTube.
