Guests can now be serenaded with the scents and flavors of Turkish cuisine right here in Alkhobar as the Taste of Turkey food festival kicked off at the Movenpick Hotel on Wednesday.

The 10-day event held at The Blue restaurant of the hotel offers a delicious range of mouth-watering Turkish specialties prepared by renowned chefs who have been invited from Movenpick Hotel Istanbul to further preserve the authenticity of flavors.

Be it the spice bazaars of Istanbul, the country’s rich traditional heritage or the appetizing cuisine, the festival is sure to transport you to the land of the Turks in all its grandeur.

“This Turkish food festival is a big hit with customers, which is why we now have it quite regularly.

We hope to promote Turkish food and culture and give people the opportunity to get a taste of Turkey in our own city. We therefore flew in two expert chefs all the way from there to make the culinary experience as wholesome as possible. Movenpick Hotel tends to have such cultural events regularly but it is always special when it’s Turkey”, said Sanjeev Tandon, director of sales and marketing at Movenpick Hotel Al-Khobar.

From the much loved and popular donner kabab and Turkish baklawa to local delicacies like kurufasulye bulgur pilavi and cheese burek, the dishes being served are sure to delight and satisfy the whims of any food connoisseur.

Chef Michel Breliere, executive chef of Movenpick, said: “Local Turkish spices have been used in abundance and the menu has been carefully selected to reflect the very best of their food. I urge everyone to come and try the subtle flavors of Turkey before the event is over. I’m sure they will enjoy it.”

The event is open to all daily from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. until April 18.
