DPWorld teams had a fruitful week as they won their matches in three different categories. Their MMX team overpowered Friday Bulls 3-1 and LMX squad won by the same margin over TAC.
DPWorld’s B2 entry was pushed to the limit winning on points 2 (23) 2 (19) against a fighting J&Bteam . RSTP HMX cruised to its maiden win, 3-1 against Fuchs while ABTC’s LMX entry duplicated its category B2 win in the first week when it crushed Uricane 3-1 as the 4th ALBAIK Team Tennis Tournament completed its second week of the elimination round.
DPWorld Tennis Club posted successful outings in different categories. First off was the MMX category where it won against Friday Bulls 3-1.
Starting the first set with Joe Bao-Arnel Gapate who lost 4-8 against Alex Pena-Edward Tugade, DPWorld never lost focus to take the second set on a win by Gil Tingabngab-Darrell Eltagonde over Sev Sumaya-Ed Belen at 8-5. This was followed by another win by Rhill Macapagal-Allan Bergosa in the third set over Nilo Salvedia-Nicasio Razalan 8-4. Closing out the set and the match in the fourth set was Joel Matin-ao-Ador Olivo who scored an 8-5 victory against Danny Canoy-Allan Basa.
DPWorld LMX category saw Faiz Amil-Alan Bergoza win over Art O.-Allan Bandilaw of TAC in the first set. TAC then took the second set courtesy of Michelle-Harry B. who had an 8-4 win against Joel Chan-Dante De Claro to level the score at 1-1. DPWorld then took the next two sets as Orly C.-Conrad Matias defeated Jojie-Jeff Zamudio 8-1 then Toto Jamorol-Allan Basa closed the lights on Zaldy C.-Lito Zamudio with a tiebreak win at 8-7 for the 3-1 match win.
In the B2 category, DPWorld’s Benny Oandasan-Ador Olivo lost the first set 2-8 to J&B’s Noel De Guzman-Geraldo Catalan. DPW’s Allan Bergosa-Darrell Eltagonde controlled the second set to win 8-1 against Jun Atienza-Tirso Manalo then Andres-Conrad Matias ruled the third set past Bernie Soguilon-Marlon Pagsanjan to put DPW ahead 2-1. Although J&B’s Jun Ordonez-Tony Cleofas won the fourth set against Arnel Gapate-Joel Chan to tie the score at 2-2, DPWorld won the match on points 23-19.
In other matches, Red Sea Tennis Players (RSTP) HMX team shook off the 2-8 first set loss of Vooch Maniri-Fred Masangkay to team Fuchs’ Renz Lacsina-Sandy Dalit with a second set singles win by Khoja who played a heads up game as he overpowered Voonsit Terepol 8-4 to level the score at 1-1.
In the third set, Jun Ouano-Carmelo Nery was the steadier pair as they won 8-5 against a hard-fighting Jovy Abella-Eloy Torres to put RSTP ahead at 2-1.
Still anybody’s game at the fourth set, RSTP team captain Randy Martin paired with Juvy Tagudin and made sure of the win as they waylaid a game pair of Yoon-Kim Sung 8-2 and cap the match with a 3-1 scorecard. Meanwhile, Ace Breakers Tennis Club (ABTC) LMX entry posted its first win at the expense of Uricane 3-1.
Ali Sakay-Amen Dipatuan won over Ramil Lorzano-Rey Tablang 8-6 in the first set then Roel Dizon-Ramil Ramos defeated Ricky Salazar-Jay Laureano 8-2 in the second set. An 8-6 win by Saipoden Dianalan-Gibert Bruno in the third set against Tony Antonio-Walid Batestil was the icing to ABTC’s victory cake 3-0. Rollie Maminta-Egay Go could not complete a 4-0 sweep in the fourth, losing to Eusebio Castillo-Dennis Cruz 2-0 to give Uricane a point in the match.
Other match results: Category C — Hitec-Hidada 2(27) def. Arabian Homes-APO 2(26), Uricane 4(32) def. TAC 0(9); Category LMX — Hitec-Hidada 2(25) def. SPTC 2(21); Category B1 — UCB 3(27) def. Alfredo’s JIS 1(19), Category MMX — Zuhair Fayez 3(29) def. Murcia-MTC 1(20).
