Every year the National Home Health Care Foundation in the Western Province hosts its annual exhibition, The Magic Carpet Festival also known as Bizat Al-Reeh in Ramadan. The 16th edition of the festival is one of the most highly anticipated and key fund-raising programs that the Foundation hosts yearly, starting from the year 2000. The festival started on the 5th of Ramadan and continued until the 10th, the last two days of the event accommodated families to come and enjoy the bazaar. Bizat Al-Reeh is Ramadan’s biggest charity bazaar raising money for different charity organizations.

The exhibition is a key point where many local and international designers such as jewelry, fashion, food and lifestyle vendors head to display their products to a large attendance that grows yearly. This year was no exception, the number of visitors flock the exhibition in search of the latest in fashion and jewelry designs as well as many home décor arrangements. The bazaar gathers the largest group of local and regional talents all in one hall designed in a Ramadan theme, booths lining the interior of the exhibit with new local talents participating each year showcasing their products.

This year’s event featured designers and artists from Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and many more from around the region. Some of the names participating include Soha Ashi, Herfa by Naeema Al-Shuhail, Tiraz Store, Useless, Ris Interiors, Muna Abulfaraj, Miskeyana, Flower in Vase, Naseem Al-Andalus, Min Huna, La Suna, Shehana Designs, Haifa Al-Fahad, Lamaz Official, Levoile by Nihad Bakhrebah, Dress Adilaa by Hadeel Ismail, Danah Al-Kuwait, Bint Al-Balad, Art Sharks, Reem Nazer, Charmaleena, Saudi Spirit, Yataghan Jewelry, Jade Jewelry along with many local boutiques such as Bow Botique, Fiore Boutique, Homegrown Market and so many more.

One of the highlights of day two of the festival was the arrival of Kuwaiti fashion blogger and designer Ascia Al-Faraj (Ascia Akf). The Kuwaiti fashion icon toured the exhibit and got acquainted as well as mingled with many of the local talents and fans. As she toured the grounds, she visited many booths and admired the garments showcased and documented her visit on her personal snapchat. Many of the fans showed lots of love and appreciation as she greeted them. Her anticipated arrival came after she attended Alaan Art Space in Riyadh where she also checked out an amazing collection of various designers held at the event.

Reem and sister Wed K. have been attending the bazaar for years now and every year they’re pleased with the number of participants and the variety of choices. “We look forward to this bazaar every year, it gives us a chance to check out designers from outside Saudi Arabia. Sure we can order online or through a medium, but it’s so much better to actually see the object in mind and get a feel for it. Every year the designers’ themes change and we get to shop for unique pieces.” Many of the attendees are in mutual agreement with the two sisters. They look forward to this charitable event to not only give back but to also see the commitment of the designers with innovative designs each year.

“It’s a great opportunity for us designers to come and present our designs. Our line for example is seasonal and concentrates mainly in the month of Ramadan. Our designs are made especially for Ramadan, we connect between the spirituality of the month with the family bonding and closeness Ramadan presents as well as create designs especially for mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces, grandmothers and granddaughters.... We at Bint Al-Balad strive to present innovation in our line each year to the attendees of Bizat Al-Reeh. This is a great opportunity for the visitors to view our line and get to know our story more,” explained founders of Bint Al-Balad Bedoor and Fatma Alesayi.

Bizat Al-Reeh is not only a charitable event, it’s a chance where fashion designers, jewelry designers, artists and many more talents get to meet, exchange experiences, create relations and business deals for future endeavors and many more — all for a great cause.
