RIYADH: Customs authorities at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah have foiled an attempt to smuggle 52,850 Xanax capsules into the country.
The drug, an anti-depressant, banned in the Kingdom, was found hidden under the clothes of four women, said Faisal Al-Dabbagh, director of customs at the airport.
The capsules were discovered during normal customs procedures by a woman officer, Al-Dabbagh was quoted as saying by a local publication.
The women had 16,200, 13,800, 11,850 and 11,000 capsules on them respectively, he said.
