The Indian Food Festival was launched at Makarim Hotel in Riyadh on Thursday, which attracted large number of families on its first day.

“The Essence of India” was inaugurated by Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao.

The ten-day event is organized in association with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), and will encompass a wide variety of dishes from north and south India.

Speaking at the ceremony, Yahya Al-Sayegh, general manager of Makarim Hotel, urged the Asian community in Riyadh to attend the event and taste their favorite Indian dishes.”

“The festival provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience authentic Indian dishes prepared by a team of skilled chefs,” he said.

The offer includes a variety of northern and southern Indian recipes and other classic dishes with traditional spices and flavorings, said executive chef Joseph George.
