More than 20 Saudi chefs are making traditional dishes for Janadriyah’s visitors to sample as part of the women’s activities at the ongoing 28th National Cultural and Heritage Festival.

The Saudi cuisine chefs were eager to display their culinary skills and offer the female visitors a true Saudi taste.

Supervisor of Women’s Section at Janadriyah Mona Al-Sadoun said that the pavilion is replete with heritage crafts and traditional dishes of artisans and small families businesses from all over Kingdom and GCC countries.

They also offered workshops on the traditional process of making strained yogurt (Al-Eqt) and the traditional weaving technique Al-Sadu.

Umm Hatim made Saudi traditional bread (Al-Nor) in an oven on the outdoor courtyard.

She participated in Janadriyah for the second year in row, she told Saudi Press Agency.

She said she impatiently awaited the festival as she enjoys offering visitors a true Saudi taste, while earning some money.

Umm Mohammed is participating for the first time in Janadriyah with her popular saj pastries and mufallaq. She expressed delight and satisfaction with the number of visitors who wanted to try her traditional dishes, such as jarish, hunayni, marquq, qursan and others.
