JBL: Nissan GTR, Rabya, Chili’s score

Nissan GTR of Francis Gallego beat Red Sea Pirates 68-55 here in the JBL Invitational Basketball Tournament at Bin Mafouz court on Tahlia St., Al Andalus District here.
Nissan inside plays were unstoppable as Red Sea Pirates defense collapses in the dying minutes of the game. EJay had 22 points for Nissan GTR and was adjudged as the JBL Best Player of the game while Dorado scored 18 points for Red Sea Pirates.

Fuddruckers of Elmer Delos Santos beat United Naghi 67-65. Fuddruckers showed heart in the dying seconds as United Naghi tried its best to beat the defending champion. Marlon Melendez, with his outside sniping, top-scored with 25 points for Fuddruckers and was adjudged as the Giordano Best Player of the game while Jobert Recayo had 21 points for United Naghi.
Viagra Naghi of Reggie Santos defeated ALJ Toyota 67-59. Both teams played good defense in the whole game. Viagra coach Elmer Tendero instructed his players to attack the basket in the crucial two minutes of the game as ALJ Toyota started to lose steam. Ablaza led Viagra Naghi with 22 points and was adjudged as the Arab News Best Player of the game while Paul Taguba scored 15 points for ALJ Toyota.
Chili’s Restaurant of Alfredo Villas defeated Tike Restaurant 62-59.
Chili’s used man to man defense to defuse the offensive plays of Tike in the dying minutes. Tike committed back-to-back errors that gave Chili’s its first win in three outings. Fungay scored 19 points for Chili’s and was adjudged as the JBL Best Player of the game while Tom Francisco top-scored with 23 points for Tike Restaurant.
Hyundai Genesis of Dennis Elmenzo upset Fuddruckers 65-62. Both teams played running game. Fuddruckers missed their winning shot while Zaldy Fetalco of Hyundai Genesis got the rebound and converted the winning free throw.
Carpina scored 18 points and was adjudged as the Saudi Sign Best Player of the game while Lim led Fuddruckers with 17 points.
Rabya of Richard Sotto defeated Marriott Jeddah Hotel 66-64. The game was close all the way. After the smoke of battle cleared it was Rabya up by two points.
Niepes top-scored with 17 points and was adjudged as Wael Sports Best Player of the game while Samsom scored 17 points for Marriott Hotel.
