KAIA, MHA, Khulais win Jotun League openers

KAIA, MHA and Al Khulais won their opening week matches of the Jotun League (Morning Division-I) sponsored by Jotun Paints and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association. Fifteen teams divided in 2 Groups of which 4 top teams from each group will qualify for knock-out stage.
KAIA scored a thrilling two-wicket win over Pak Young.
Pak Young scored 191 for 8 with Yahya Khatak being the highest scorer with 44 followed by Ahmad Shaah 23 and Abdullah unbeaten on 28.
Shaan (3 for 25) and Imtiaz (2 for 10) shared the spoils. KAIA gave away 34 extras. In reply KAIA reached their target of 192 for the loss of 8 wickets. Fazal led the way with a well made 55. He was ably supported by Assad 45 and Imtiaz 40. Fazal (2 for 25), Nasrullah (2 for 30) and Riaz Afridi (2 for 32) bowled well but their efforts were not enough as KAIA managed to sneak home with 2 wickets in hand.
In another match, MHA batting first scored 221 for 6 wickets against Stallions. Sheraz 60, and Raj 30 were the main scorers. Stallions gave away 31 extras. Rafiq took 3 for 21.
Ali and Ehsan had wicket each for 22 and 4 runs respectively. In reply Stallions could only manage 171 for 6. Rafay top-scored with 64 runs. Ahsan 25 and Fahad 26 did their best. Mir Ali Shah, Iftekhar, Raj, Sher Muhammad and Asif claimed a wicket each. MHA won by 50 runs.
Elsewhere, Al Khulais surprised Saliheen.
Al Khulais put on board 177 for 9. Hafiz Ismail 55, Zahoor 41 and Tanveer 23 were the other contributors. Nasir had 4 wickets for 33 runs while Faisal chipped in with 2 for 27. In reply Saliheen were bundled out for 144 with Faisal fighting a lone battle scoring 83. None of other batsmen reached double figures. Sabeel (3 for 14), Shahid (2 for 24) and Zohaib (2 for 30) did most of the damage.
