This is with reference to the article “Menace of online pranks” (July 7) by Abdulrahman Al-Rashed. The incident the writer has quoted in his article is indeed very sad. It shows that we should be careful before playing a prank. We should not ignore the possible consequences of such actions that may put a person’s life and his entire career on the line. By the grace of God, the matter was resolved and the victim of that silly prank received a clean chit but who is going to pay for the ordeal he went through.
A little fun is not bad, as a matter of fact sometimes innocent or harmless jokes add a little spice to life and help a person forget the day-to-day problems but there is a limit to everything. And clearly the pranksters in this case crossed all limits. Similarly, a famous media personality, Paris Hilton, became a victim of a horrible prank. I did not find it funny at all. She or other passengers, who were not the executioners of the prank, could have died out of fear. We should never cross our limits. — Yasin Ahmed Jalali, Riyadh
