The General Secretariat of the Gulf Press Union (GPU) is set to hold its Seventeenth Meeting on Tuesday in Kuwait headed by Turki bin Abdullah Al-Sudairy, President of the Union.

The Secretary-General of the Union, Nasser Mohammed Al-Othman, said that the meeting, which will be hosted by An-Nahar Newspaper and its editor-in-chief, Imad Jawad Bukhamseen, will discuss important topics and adopt the proposed action plan for the next two years.

Imad Bukhamseen said the Kuwaiti press is interested in providing circumstances to achieve the objectives of the Gulf Press Union, which the union was created for.

He added An-Nahar newspaper proposed to hold this meeting in Kuwait more than two years ago, to confirm this trend/approach and has presented a paper containing a set of proposals to revitalize the Union.

Bukhamseed noted that the newspaper will not hesitate in providing all that may contribute to the improvement of the Gulf journalistic work process.
