DUBAI: UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash has said that his country is at war and that he is appalled that his statement was taken out of context and misinterpreted for (an) external agenda that seek to undermine the region and the (GCC) in particular. The WAM news agency quoted Gargash early Friday as making the comments in London.
In his previous comments, he said the UAE’s part in the Saudi-led war in Yemen was “over.” His remarks came as peace talks in Kuwait City have yet to end.
The UAE, one of the best-equipped militaries in the region, has seen more than 80 of its soldiers killed since the Saudi-led military campaign began in March 2015.
