Studies conducted by Towers Watson are proving that employee performance in companies can be increased through various motivational measures and internal communications initiatives such as team building activities, celebration of company milestones and recognition of staff achievements. Today, a growing number of Saudi companies are adopting these international practices to keep their employees motivated and maximize their productivity at the workplace.
Elaf Group, operating in the travel and tourism industry, shared its experience about staff communications and the Staff Open Day it organizes annually.
Saleh Bin Mahfouz, chairman of SEDCO, the parent company of Elaf, thanked the board members of the group and the management for the success achieved throughout the years.
He also extended his recognition on all achievements obtained by Elaf staff members.
“We have been constantly focusing on investing in employee motivation and development initiatives as we strongly believe that employees who are satisfied and motivated can significantly drive growth and contribute to overall productivity, efficiency and performance optimization,” said Saleh Bin Mahfouz
Companies in Saudi Arabia are increasingly adopting various internal communications programs.
Entities from different sectors in major cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam have already started implementing these initiatives and practices to ensure optimum staff satisfaction, which indirectly translates to better service to customers.
The special events such as Open Days demonstrate the companies’ commitment toward creating a better work environment, while enhancing performance and efficiency of staff.
Moreover, the annual ceremonies present an opportunity to honor high performing employees and to underline the companies’ achievements over the past years.
“Our main goal of organizing this special day was to boost employee motivation and performance, and address any challenges they face, as this in turn will lead to better quality of services provided to our customers in Saudi Arabia and beyond,” said Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, president of Elaf Group, during the Open Day annual ceremony.
“We are also studying the process of providing training to Saudi staff by international hospitality companies to further develop their skills. This is especially essential since we believe that maintaining excellent service delivery standards is one of the key pillars to success and has become a necessity,” he said.
