The Ministry of Labor said that neither they nor GOSI have any data regarding the number of small companies that rectified their status after being threatened with punitive action by MoL if they fail to employ at least one Saudi in their staff.
Sources at the Ministry of Labor said that of the 340,000 companies with a zero-rate of Saudization, “We have no numbers at present.”
“As regards the numbers and employment rates of Saudis in the companies, we rely on GOSI. As for expat worker data, we rely on the data provided by the National Data Center at the Ministry of Interior,” said Hattab Al Anizi, spokesman for the ministry.
“If a small company fails to employ at least one Saudi, the company will be given a red category, which means it will be denied all services provided by ministry,” he added.
Meanwhile, Amal Sheerah, member of the Human Resources Commission at Jeddah Chamber, said that GOSI should provide precise statistical data about employment in the private sector, since they have the relevant data regarding organizations and their employees.
