Illinois firms join Jeddah MEDEXPO

A delegation of business representatives from firms based in the US state of Illinois will participate in MEDEXPO, an international health care exhibition and forum at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events, from today till Monday (April 8).
This year’s MEDEXPO is focused on a wide array of health sectors, including medical, dentistry, ophthalmology, laboratories, pharmaceutical, and bio-technology and medical tourism.
The US consulate’s commercial section will host the delegation for a variety of activities to deepen their understanding of the Saudi market, including a detailed commercial briefing, a reception by US Consul General Anne Casper, and one-on-one matchmaking activities to introduce the firms to potential local partners. The delegates range from firms offering medical devices to laboratory equipment and plastics manufacturing. The goal of this trade mission is to identify local opportunities and partner with Saudi-based firms. Saudi Arabia is the United States’ largest trading partner in the Middle East.
Tomorrow (Sunday), Casper will attend MEDEXPO to conduct a walkthrough tour with the Jeddah-based Commercial Consul Charles Ranado, and show organizers from MICE Arabia.
Casper commented: “MEDEXPO is an impressive and timely event. It is a wonderful opportunity for US firms to get to know the Saudi market and share their expertise and technology with potential partners.”
Ranado, commending the State of Illinois for their ambitious agenda, stated: “The presence in Jeddah of this delegation of SMEs, which are the backbone to the US economy and job creation, is an excellent example of Illinois’ determination to assist small and medium enterprises in their state growing their business internationally.”
