Jamal Nasser Al-Mulhim has been appointed mayor of Dammam. The announcement came from Prince Mansour bin Miteb, minister of municipal and rural affairs. Al-Mulhim replaces Dhaifallah Al-Otaibi. Al-Mulhim served as the chairman of the Alkhobar municipality from 1986 to 1999.
Later he was appointed a deputy for construction and projects at Dammam municipality. He served in that capacity until he was appointment mayor. Aside from his government appointments, Al-Mulhim was chairman of a committee for engineering design at the Saudi Engineers Association and a member of American Architects. He is also a member at the Projects Management Association in the GCC. He is also chairman of urban planning at SEA as well as a member of the advisory committee at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Fund. Additionally, he is a member of the Steering Committee for the Disabled People Program in the Kingdom.
Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif, and his deputy Jalwai bin Abdulaziz received outgoing Mayor Al-Otaibi and the new mayor at the Eastern Province governate.
