Around 3,500 men and women of different ages visited the “My Health-First 34” pavilion, a medical awareness campaign that was recently held at Granada Mall in Riyadh.
The campaign was conducted by medical students at King Fahad Medical City’s Faculty of Medicine and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
The three-day campaign has been organized for seven consecutive years within the framework of community service programs at both institutions with the participation of over 100 medical students under the supervision of a medical consulting team.
The campaign aimed to raise health awareness among community members and provide general medical tests for visitors, including weight, height and blood pressure readings, in addition to comprehensive medical examinations, including measuring body mass index (BMI), blood glucose levels to detect diabetes and the occurrence of osteoporosis.
Following the tests, a medical consultant would read out the results and refer cases to health education programs or hospitals for further examination.
A number of awareness brochures and gift bags were also distributed during the campaign.
