Taiwanese trade mission to explore business opportunities

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will lead a 29-member trade delegation to Saudi Arabia in early June. They will tour Riyadh from June 4-7 and Jeddah from June 7-10. They will be earlier visiting Almaty, Kazakhstan (May 28-June 1); Muscat, Oman (June 1-4).
The visit aims to facilitate business cooperation between the members of the delegation and their counterparts based in the Middle East and Central Asia. It also aims to bolster trade relations between Taiwan and the three countries, which the delegation will visit.
The delegation members are expected to present their best products and services during their visit to the countries mentioned. "Having made great strides in industry, Taiwan remains a force to be reckoned with in technologically advanced manufacturing," TAITRA said in a statement.
Taiwan is home to key manufacturers and suppliers of various products that include electronics, IT components, semiconductors, photovoltaic applications, car electronics, auto parts, motorcycles, bicycles, industrial machinery and equipment and mold and die work.
"In the latest global competitiveness ranking of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Taiwan ranked 7th among economies surveyed and 3rd among Asian nations that took part in the survey. Thanks to its excellent supply capacity, Taiwan was given high marks," TAITRA added.
TAITRA has arranged a series of trade meetings to give companies in Almaty, Muscat, Riyadh and Jeddah a chance to discuss business meetings with the delegation. Companies in these key cities will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products that include:
1. 5. Medical & Health Products — medical disposables and raw materials.
6. Textiles — shaping undergarments, socks, gloves and hats.
7. Food — processed food (mochi, jelly, cake, pineapple cake, etc), frozen fish (tilapia, milkfish, catfish, squid products, kingfisher).
8. Toys & Baby Products — baby strollers, baby bassinets, baby chairs, baby swings, and various baby related products.
9. Stationery and Office Supplies — white/black corkboards, whiteboard markers, and permanent markers.
10. Chemical Products & Materials — adhesives, cyanoacrylate adhesives (super glue), anaerobic adhesives, nail glue, eyelash glue, putty sticks and UV adhesives.
