King Khalid Foundation, NCB support four charity projects

The National Commercial Bank (NCB) recently signed an agreement with King Khalid Foundation to give financial donations to the best charity foundations that were able present a plan of a charity project. The aim of this initiative is to support training programs and build the capabilities of charity foundations’ staff to promote efficiency, effectiveness and performance, which will be positively reflected on our society.
The winning projects were honored during a ceremony organized by King Khalid Foundation with attendance of Princess Al-Bandari bint Abdul Rahman Al-Faysal, director general, King Khalid Foundation, and Mahmoud Turkistani, VP and head of social responsibility department at NCB, in addition to representatives of the charity foundations that won the donation.
The list of wining projects included Qualifying the Adolescents project presented by Charity Society for Marriage & Family Care in Baha, Rehabilitation of Visually Impaired project presented by Ebsar Foundation, My Skill is Enough project presented by Albir Society Jeddah, and Qualifying the Job Seekers from Ensan Committee project presented by Charity Committee for Orphans Care (Ensan), Riyadh. Each foundation received a financial donation at the value of SR 200,000.
Through they are social responsibility programs, NCB endeavors to support and enhance the institutional charity and development work, which is built on scientific approach. Its strategy aims to create and implement ideas and finance the programs that strive for building the capabilities of people working in the charity and development field. The best four projects were chosen based on the highest score of the program’s applicable standards.
Princess Al-Bandari bint Abdul Rahman Al-Faysal, director general, King Khalid Foundation, said: "This is the fifth time in two years that King Khalid Foundation and NCB present development donations with the objective of supporting the Saudi non-profit sector by enhancing the culture of sustainable development work. Announcement of this donation came after the officials of those winning foundations joined a specialized workshop with the participation of 26 non-profit organizations.
"NCB interest in developing the capabilities of people working in the charity foundations comes in line with its leading role and ample record of achievements to institutionalize the social work, present social responsibility initiatives to enable our society and national economy to achieve the sustainable development in its economic, social and environmental aspects," Mahmoud Turkistani, VP and head of social responsibility department at NCB, said.
The training program of non-profit sector’s staff covered 468 trainees from different charity foundations across the Kingdom, and about 26 projects received the finance." Al-Turkistani added.
The program focused on enhancing the practical aspect rather than theoretical and training aspects. The existence of real and applicable cases was a crucial factor to win the development donations to enhance this trend. King Khalid Foundation and NCB brought international experts to present this program.
