As part of its mentorship and training development program, the Jeddah Entrepreneurs Meet (JEM) and Competition held a specialized communications training program at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) for the benefit of the winners and finalists during the 2012 JEM Competition.
The training session focused on effective communication, building the personal and business image, effective using technology to communicate the brand and messaging, and business etiquette tips and guides.
The training was open to employees in the companies of the winners giving them a first-hand opportunity to be part of the communication development for their institutions. The session was hosted by Sarah Al-Ayed, co-chair of the Jeddah Entrepreneurs Meet and TRACCS board member and founder of the communications studio.
The seven winners of the JEM 2012 competition underwent a 12 month long mentorship program, developed by Al Aghar Group, the program partner for JEM, with top business personalities to help them develop their strategy and 12 month goals to achieve sustainable business growth. The mentorship program will end in July.
The communications training workshop was part of the overall development to further enhance and support the entrepreneurs’ business offering.
Further building on JCCI Board Chairman Saleh Kamel’s ‘Teach, mentor then fund me’ commentary, the role of the mentorship program, monthly review and alignment, and the communications training session, is to provide the successful finalists with the necessary tools and understanding to be able to not only build a business but to be able to effectively and professionally communicate and build an image and brand.
“Our role through JEM is to put into practice what we as various business entities have worked on and developed. There’s a great need for communication development not only from a corporate perspective but an individual one as well,” Al-Ayed stated.
“As entrepreneurs it’s important to be able to capture the interest and attention of your target audience, but unfortunately development of plans and strategies go into effect without emphasis being placed on personal and self-development. This is the uniqueness of the JEM committees and partners. They are able to identify the needs and adapt the program accordingly,” Al-Ayed added.
The JEM 2012 Competition winners will be ready to highlight their achievements, challenges and means of growth and development during the JEM 2013 launch event that will be announced shortly. With the support of their dedicated mentors and under the supervision of the program partner Al Aghar Group, the mentorship program was able to achieve the set key performance indicators based on quarterly reviews and alignment.
