The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) said on Thursday that employees registered in its database are dropped automatically once reported as absconders (huroob).
This step is carried out through the electronic connectivity program between GOSI and the National Information Center (NIC) at the Ministry of Interior.
Before, businessmen used to go through long and complicated processes when trying to drop runaway employees from GOSI’s database. The new electronic connectivity program saves time and effort, according to GOSI.
“GOSI has stopped filing paperwork for absconders,” says Abdullah Al-Abduljabbar, said a GOSI spokesman.
The Nitaqat system uses the GOSI database to compare the number of Saudi employees to non-Saudis in private companies. This makes it important for businessmen to get rid of the names of their runaway employees to avoid being placed in the “red” status of the nationalization scheme.
GOSI Gov. Sulaiman Al-Quwaiz, earlier said: “Non-Saudi employees would be completely removed from the GOSI system if they have left the country for good, have been reported as runaways or have died.”
