Sweet Angel Vipers and FBGR Chairman Emerson Mitra took center stage as they romped off with the Best Team of the Week and Best Bowler of the Week awards respectively during the fifth session in the Almarai-FBGR Sunday Bowling league 13th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center here.
Almarai Company is the major sponsor of the tournament under the auspices of the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR).
Mentored by Angel Caasi, Sweet Angel Vipers had easy 22-14 victory over FBGR Selection of Mike Ecalnir. The duo of Fernie Ballano and Koko Torres led Vipers by scoring 810 and 805, with support from Ruel Pingol 767 and Jun Balubayan 762 while Charlie Cheng and Glenn Dela Cruz each shared two games of 463 and 407.
Despite the loss FBGR Selection did not go home empty-handed as their player Mitra emerged Best Bowler of the Week after shooting the high series of 931. The other scorers at FBGR were James Boyd 781, Benito Santos 726, Joel Lambo 572, Jett Cabana 529 and Jojo Miraflor 363.
Team Irene beat United Global 18-10 with rising bowler Stephen Solomon leading the charge on 902 followed by Irene Pua 803, Donjie Mapalad 714, Dee Urbano 625, Jao Urbano 459 and KC Enriquez 372 in two games.
Joelito Santillan led the losing team on 825 with Sam Dotingco on 761, Clem Ojeda 725, Erwin Atienza 528 Mario Cantina 377, Jeff Nierva 362 and Romy Repia 158.
Alinma Bank mentored by Abdulrahman Ahmed demolished Nadec Strokers of Lope Ramirez 20-13. Top scorers were Ahmed 847, Bernie Torres 834, Leo Mabunga 761, Jess Ambon 755 and Fareed Aquino 753, while the losing team had Lope Ramirez on 875, Jove Marano 788, Ruben Babasa 741m Reynald Medina 383 and Danny Nabong 374.
Defending champion Carry Over of Lulu Quejada spilled Almarai Co. of Jun Daniel 17-13 in a 2-2 match. Leading scorer of the winning team was Abdullah Amoudi 834 while Celis Viloria tallied 779, Dennis Gabriel 759, Quejada 751 and Nap Torres 716. Alex Armada paced the losers on 765 followed by Fhel Ramos 762, Jun Daniel 759 and Joel Batolina 747.
In other matches, Thales of Ryan Iñigo upset RG512 of Yasser Mohamed 21-12, IBG Storm of Ric Singson edged Look Up boys of Ronald Bautista 15-12 in a 2-2 match and Proshop Strikers of Ric Urrutia beat Alsalam Knights of Bandar Al-Marshad 18-11.
