King Fahd library plaza opens

A 20,000-square-meter park has opened to the public near King Fahd National Library in Riyadh.
The Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) inaugurated the plaza as part of its plan to expand the library.
The plaza is constructed over an underground parking area for 350 cars. It also has 171 external parking spaces around the library and plaza.
The ADA plans to build more parks in Riyadh. It already has popular areas including the King Abdulaziz Historical Center square, Prince Sattam Park, and squares on King Abdullah Road. There are various historical sites, playgrounds, and new restaurants and coffee shops in the area.
The ADA will soon complete the library expansion, which includes modifying the old library building to fit in with the design of the new building. Both structures will act as one multi-functional unit to serve their national role as an open public library.
The design has also taken into consideration the need for future expansion as well as provisions for public safety and security.
