Tooth for a tooth for mom beater

A Makkah court has sentenced a man to five years in prison and 2,400 lashes in public for assaulting his mother.
Sheikh Turki bin Dhafer Al-Qarni, the criminal court judge, found the 30-year-old man guilty of hitting his mother and breaking her front teeth inside their car while traveling from Al-Laith to Makkah.
The man’s mother had appealed for help from police when they arrived at a checkpoint. Officers on duty arrested her son and called the Red Crescent to take her to hospital.
The sentence would see him get 60 lashes repeated 40 times every 10 days in public. The judge also ordered that one of his teeth be broken.
The young man and the attorney general accepted the judgment.
