The 6th Grand Bazaar for productive families with the title “Touch of queen” under the patronage of Princess Jamila bint Abdulmajeed Al-Saud was inaugurated by the princess on Saturday in the presence of a number of businesswomen, VIPs and women from all walks of life.
The three-day bazaar showcasing Saudi Arabia’s traditional and cultural goods with more than 120 participants was organized by Saudi businesswoman Abeer Abdullah with the cooperation of Al Bir charitable organization at Hilton hotel Jeddah.
A wide range of homemade products is on display and the bazaar offers an opportunity for exchange of culture and experience with local citizens and experts.
Princess Jamila praised the efforts of the organizers for the 6th annual bazaar which was organized with the aim to help in marketing the products of the productive families.
She said such events for women help Saudi women to come forward and be part of the country’s economy.
“Saudi women have the right to prove themselves, highlight their talent, and be a part of the country’s economy and development,” said the princess.
She also said that she believed in Saudi women and their talents, and wants them to come forward.
The princess, who is an artist and a photographer, said that she will organize an exhibition of her work next year alongside the artwork of other female artists.
Wafa Azar, the general supervisor of the exhibition said that the most important reason for organizing such an event was to give exposure to Saudi women and their talent.
“Many of them are excellent designers making unique jewelry creations, traditional clothes, abayas, traditional products, bags, toys and much more,” she said.
She explained that the bazaar was just an attempt to highlight their efforts and help them to recognize their role in the country’s economy.
Azar said that as the number of visitors and participants in the product families’ events were on the rise, they were planning to bring in new talent and give a chance to more Saudi women to come forward and establish themselves in the market.
