Sagmit repeats, Atienza wins in OFBC July Monthly event

Shirley Sagmit repeated as Bowler of the Month while Lexter Atienza chased down his first victory after being second runner-up in March
during the OFBC Monthly Tournament for July last Friday at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
The consistent Sagmit, winner in February, won on tiebreak from Fatima Jintarat after both lady bowlers tied on 373 in the finals to punctuate a come-from-behind triumph having qualified sixth and last in her division.
Sagmit, who again outdid herself despite her handicap reclassifed from D to C, was also the second runner-up during the January and March monthlies.
Atienza, a beginning bowler, rolled 399 during the two games finals to win by 5 pins from Ricardo Nangel 395 in the men’s division with Class A Hadi Pacheco second runner-up on 390 and Rico Parcon, another rookie bowler, third runner-up on 377.
June ladies champion Minda Guevarra was second runner-up this time on 355 and Carms Lim third runner-up on 351.
The winners and runners-up each received cash prize and gift pack courtesy of sponsor Star Markets through Ishtiaq Elahi, Star Superstores branch manager Corniche Sultan Mall branch.
