Riyadh: Koora Break has opened its new regional headquarters in Riyadh, marking a major step in the football media platform’s expansion following investment from Rio Ferdinand’s The Ferdinand Group.
The Middle East and North Africa-based company’s new headquarters feature a fully equipped production studio, positioning it as a content, media and technology hub aimed at connecting Middle Eastern football culture with global audiences across Europe, Asia and beyond.
Ferdinand attended the official opening alongside members of the Saudi Royal Family, business leaders and prominent figures from the regional sports and media landscape.
The launch comes two years after Ferdinand’s initial investment, which helped accelerate Koora Break’s evolution from a fast-growing football content platform into a broader sports media and technology business.
Koora Break now employs more than 50 staff across Riyadh, Dubai, Cairo, Paris and London, reflecting its growing international footprint and ambitions to serve fans, rights holders, brands and media partners across multiple markets.
“The opening of our new headquarters is a major step in Koora Break’s journey. We have built a platform with strong roots in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, but our ambition is international,” Ferdinand said.
“We have been able to accelerate our growth, expand our team and invest in the infrastructure needed to compete globally. Our new MENA headquarters gives us the production capability, creative environment and technology base to build the next generation of football media experiences.”
The company is now entering its next phase of development, with a focus on artificial intelligence and the launch of a new all-in-one football application designed for mobile-first audiences. The platform will combine live scores, news, content, fan engagement and interactive features in a single destination.
The expansion reflects the broader growth of Saudi Arabia’s sports economy, driven by increased investment in football, media, entertainment and technology, as well as rising demand for digital and creator-led content.
Koora Break’s strategy includes scaling up original programming, social-first content, live digital coverage and talent-led formats, alongside brand partnerships and technology-driven fan engagement tools.
Ferdinand’s involvement is expected to strengthen the platform’s links between the Middle East and European football markets, adding global reach and industry expertise to its operations.
The new headquarters will serve as a base for Koora Break’s expanding content output and innovation pipeline, underlining its ambition to become a leading football media and technology platform in the region with growing international relevance.
