This refers to the article, “Trump expresses doubts about security of all computers” (Jan. 1, 2017). It is true that no computer is safe especially when it is connected to a network. Imagine the time when the US tapped billions of phones around the world in the name of surveillance and it was not a crime. But Trump is making controversies and creates a notion that he is always right. This time too he advocates US intelligence agencies verify facts before reaching any conclusion and draws parallels with the mistakes the US made in Iraq in the name of weapons of mass destruction. If it was a mistake and he is a statesman, when he assumes office later this month, he will admit it and apologize to the world on behalf of the US. But I think he will not deviate substantially from the imperialist policies practiced by the US for over a century. Otherwise, he would not have blindly supported Benjamin Netanyahu’s action on illegal settlements in Jerusalem.
