The Nation: Indian prisoner freed on humanitarian grounds

May 03: The Nation states that Pakistan Wednesday said that Indian national Jitendra Arjunwar was being released to reunite with his family. Jitendra Arjunwar from Madhya Pradesh will be freed on May 4. He will leave for his home from Wagha border in Lahore. Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said Jitendra was being released on humanitarian grounds as he suffered from a debilitating blood disease. “He was arrested in 2014, his sentence ended in July 2014. His nationality was confirmed by India only in April 2018 after a delay of almost three years after granting consular access,” he said.
