JEDDAH: Jeddah-based British Consul General Barrie Peach praised the Islamic Development Bank’s (IDB) efforts to manage sacrificial meat on behalf of the Saudi government to distribute among the people.

“During the last 36 years, I have attended the annual meeting with various IDB officials and have seen the transformations that accompanied the project since its inception in 1983, starting from the slaughter of 63,000 heads to more than 1 million sacrifices last year in 84 hours only, and this indicates the effective, sophisticated management and activity associated with all variables, especially in accordance with Vision 2030,” the diplomat said.

He stressed the excellent standards for ensuring the safety of the correct application, according to Sharia’h requirements and health standards.
