LONDON: Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe denied rumors that she has been infected with coronavirus in a tweet on Friday.

Asia News claimed that social media users in Egypt were circulating rumors that Wehbe had been infected and was being treated in an Egyptian hospital owned by one of the country’s wealthiest socialites.

The story that upset Haifa reported social media rumors in Egypt that she had had coronavirus diagnosed

The news site added at the bottom that it could not confirm the news of Wehbe’s infection and that it wishes her a speedy recovery regardless.

Wehbe lashed out at the site, tweeting: “Can you name the hospital? I want to visit it and tell them that a story was published quoting social media users!! And the newspaper is confused if it is rumored!!”

“Since it was not possible for the agency to confirm the authenticity of the news, I ask you not to publish it and so the news doesn’t become fake news, the text of which is a lie that might harm her mother, and break her sister’s heart,” she continued, adding that “the most important thing you will have contributed to something useful! Thank you.”
