DUBAI: Lebanon continues to repatriate nationals stranded overseas as most commercial flights remain closed to passengers because of coronavirus travel restrictions imposed by countries.

Middle East Airlines flights arrived from Frankfurt, Jeddah and Paris on Saturday to bring home citizens as part of the fourth phase of repatriation efforts of the Lebanese government, state news agency NNA reported.

Lebanon’s national carrier have earlier deployed flights to France, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the US to fetch Lebanese expatriates.

Beirut’s international airport meanwhile will reopen on July 1 but with a limited traffic capacity equivalent to just 10 percent of its year-ago level. Private flights will also resume from June 24.
