Pakistan, UAE agree to remain engaged on regional issues, including Afghanistan

• Congratulates him over "excellent" arrangement for Dubai Expo scheduled to start next month

ISLAMABAD: The foreign ministers of Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and remain engaged on regional matters, including Afghanistan, the Pakistan foreign office said on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi received a telephone call from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, in which both leaders resolved to continue close collaboration at various multilateral forums.
"The two Ministers agreed to remain in close contact on bilateral matters as well as regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan," a statement by the Pakistani foreign office said. “[They] discussed various dimensions of Pakistan-UAE relations and agreed to strengthen cooperation in all fields."
Qureshi congratulated his counterpart on making “excellent arrangements for [Dubai] Expo2020 and hoped that the mega event would be a resounding success.”
The event in Dubai is scheduled to kick off on October 1, with more than 1,200 Pakistani companies and individuals having confirmed their participation.
