JEDDAH, 7 December — Al Hayat International School conducted its first sports festival here recently. The rolling trophy went to the House of Peace for scoring the highest points and was received by House captain Master Muhammed Ahamed Madani.
The sports day began with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Shabna Muhammed. Madam Huda Ali Al Tamimi, the guest of honor, Dr. Hamad Saif Al Battal, the principal, and Dr. Halima Zeba, the headmistress, distributed the prizes to the winners of various sports events.
The various sports activities were conducted under the supervision of the Physical Education teacher, Kursheed Begum. The students were divided into four houses namely Unity, Service, Peace and Discipline.
Fourth grader, Afroz-ul-Haq, also belonging to the House of Peace, received the all-rounder cup for achieving the highest score in different events.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Al Battal congratulated the winners and advised them to work hard and get more prizes. Vice Principal, Abdul Aziz Valiyaveetil, reaffirmed the school’s commitment to provide the best possible academic education. The Headmistress Zeba gave the vote of thanks.
Valiyaveetil said the strength of students at the school had reached more than 270 within a year. The management is looking for a new location to accommodate 1,000 to 1,500 students.
The proposed development project is envisaged with facilities such as modern scientific labs, computer labs, libraries, well-equipped playrooms, sports and games areas etc., separately for boys and girls, the vice principal said.
