JEDDAH, 8 May — The editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper resigned yesterday for personal reasons. The daily said in a back-page report that Dr. Fahd Al-Arabi Al-Harithy, chairman of the paper's board of directors, had accepted the resignation of Qainan Al-Ghamdi and that his deputy Dr. Saad Mareq had been asked to run the paper's editorial affairs. Established about one-and-a-half years ago in Abha, the capital of Asir region, Al-Watan is one of the popular Arabic dailies in the Kingdom.
