JEDDAH, 29 May 2006 — Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, president of both the General Presidency of Youth Welfare and Saudi Football Federation, announced that King Abdullah has offered SR45 million of financial assistance for the Saudi World Cup team.
The amount will be used to prepare the Saudi national team and boost the morale of the players ahead of the World Cup opening on June 9 in Germany.
Shakir Al-Thiyabi, a SFF official who spoke to Arab News, said Prince Sultan thanked the king for this royal gift and for the continued support for both the youth and sport sectors in the Kingdom.
